I know there are a lot of Magnolia haters out there, but I still like the original.
Ever since Sex and the City introduced me to Magnolia years ago - I have been pretty faithful.
First it was the traditional vanilla cupcakes, then the red velvet became my favorite, then the banana pudding, then the blueberry crumb cake...and now the Pumpkin Cupcakes with Cream Cheese Frosting and Toasted Walnuts.
I think I have to crown this cupcake the champion. I'm not sure why it took me so long to try it - it sure is delicious! Maybe Magnolia doesn't promote it enough?
The cupcake is super moist - pumpkin with a cinnamon and spice flavor. The frosting is cream cheese - more so than the Red Velvet which has a lighter frosting. And the toasted walnuts top it off perfectly.
For traditional cupcakes I do love Butter Lane a bit more- but when you are near a Magnolia (and given they now have 3 locations you will stumble upon one often) go for the Pumpkin cupcakes - you won't be sorry!
