The California avocado season has arrived! Usually between April and September is the best time to buy avocados - the price is right and the texture is just perfect - creamy, buttery deliciousness.
Here is a super simple recipe for @home guac.
There is NO reason you should ever be buying guacamole in a tub from the supermarket. Nothing beats fresh made guacamole and it is so easy!!
- Use 2 avocados - I like a LOT of guacamole!
- Cut each avocado in half
- Use a spoon to take out the pit
- Take the spoon and slide it just inside the skin to scoop up the entire half
- Chop lightly - put in a bowl
- Chop some red onions - course chop is fine
- Sprinkle salt, pepper and garlic powder liberally to your taste
- Squeeze fresh lime for flavor and to help keep it from turning brown
