From June 27th - September 13th the NY Botanical Garden has a special exhibition called the Edible Garden demonstrating how to grow your own vegetables and plants - following the farm to table mentality that is taking over the country.
If you have some outdoor space - I know it's not easy to come by - but try to grow your own herbs and veggies! That's my plan for the summer.
Some of the exhibitions include:
Martha Stewart’s Culinary Herb Garden
Martha Stewart has personally redesigned the Botanical Garden’s historic Nancy Bryan Luce Herb Garden using over 50 types of culinary herbs. Cardoon, basil, thyme, and lavender create repeating patterns of colors and textures, bordered by pots of parsley, rosemary, and oregano.
Beginner’s Vegetable Garden
Learn how to grow an edible garden of your own with this simple, easy-to-build, raised bed vegetable garden. These vegetables are easy to purchase as well as maintain. Located across from the Ruth Rea Howell Family Garden, this site is a source of inspiration and information for everyone, from the beginner vegetable gardener looking for tips on starting a garden to the experts looking for new ideas and techniques to incorporate into an existing garden.
Tickets are $20
Starting June 9th there is also a Thursday night cooking & drinking series from 6pm -9pm included in general admission.
