So I have definitely written loads about the wonderful lobster rolls from Red Hook Lobster Pound at the Brooklyn Flea.
Worthy of a 2 hour wait, they are even better at just a 15 minute wait.
With a much bigger staff to keep the line flowing - expect only minimal waits for the best lobster roll in town.
No scratch that - perhaps the best lobster roll ever!
Yesterday I tried the fish tacos at the flea. They were wonderful! The Brooklyn Flea is really quickly becoming a mecca for food lovers! Not that the flea doesn't offer some interesting shopping, but the food choices are quickly becoming the #1 reason to go on over to Dumbo on Sunday afternoons.
I had a "green taco" with mahi mahi. Fried mahi mahi + red onions + guacamole (the green part!) + red cabbage and cilantro = delicious. Perfectly crunchy, the fish was nicely cooked and tasted super fresh. Definitely squeeze the lime onto it for some extra acidity to balance out the creaminess of the guac and dressing.
Add a People's Pop to finish off the day or a stroll down to Jacques Torres Ice Cream Parlor for a chocolate chip ice cream sandwich and you'll feel like you are on a mini vacation away from Manhattan!
