Part of the B.R. Guest Restaurant Group, Isabella's on the Upper West Side is practically a NYC brunch institution.
I think of it as the uptown sister to Blue Water Grill. Served only on Sundays - brunch at Isabella's on a summer afternoon on the sidewalk is a classic NYC activity.
Located near the Museum of Natural History in yummy mummy stroller heaven - expect both a mix of families and ladies who lunch.
Brunch at Isabella's is a great deal - your choice of a cocktail including bellinis, mimosas, champagne or a blood mary + coffee or tea gratis with your brunch entree.
Favorites include a variety of eggs benedict - smoked salmon or crab cakes and fritattas and waffles.
I usually go with either the crabcake benedict or the pecan waffles with blueberries.
While the food is good - I wouldn't say it's extra special.
Isabella's is more for the experience and atmosphere. A truly pleasant no-fail choice to bring out of town guests and family.
